Payroll Lead (Contract)$40/hour6 Month Contract Hybrid | Campbell River, BCYour Newpany Hays Specialist Recruitment is partnering with a respected organization in the mining sector to hire a Payroll Administrator for a 6 month contract. This position is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment and enjoys supporting both unionized and salaried employee groups. You’ll join a

analytical skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities Administer payroll for hourly unionized employees and salaried staffProcess payroll transactions such as taxes, ROEs, bank files, and garnishmentsEducate employees and internal stakeholders on payroll policies and processesReview, verify, and audit employee time data prior to payroll runsSupport the administration of employee programs, including group benefitsPrepare weekly, monthly, and annual payroll reports on scheduleProduce reports required by external agencies in accordance with legislationServe as a key user of SAP HR/PayrollAssist with testing and validation of SAP configuration changesDraft forms, letters, reports, and memos as neededMaintain and track time‑off spreadsheets and absence dataRmend and support continuous improvements to HR/payroll processesProvide general administrative support to the HR departmentAssist the HR Manager with routine HR tasks, special projects, and initiativesPerform additional duties as assignedKey Dimensions
Ensurepliance with all internal organizational policies and proceduresSupport the execution of HR and payroll strategies aligned with business goalsDeliver high‑quality work while collaborating with internal and external stakeholdersLegislative Requirements All employees are expected to:

Minimum 5+ years of payroll experience in a similar rolePost‑secondary education in business, administration, or human resourcesSAP experience —

assetExperience in a unionized and/or mining environment —
assetSkills & Knowledge
