AboutThe Role
As the Director, People Operations, you will be a strategic and hands‑on leader responsible for building and optimizing our People function as the company continues to grow. You will design and execute a comprehensive People strategy that encompasses talent acquisition, employee experience, performance management, total rewards, and compliance. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll play a critical role in building the infrastructure, processes, and culture that enable our next stage of growth.
The ideal candidate brings deep HR expertise, a strong operational orientation, and a track record of implementing People programs in dynamic, high‑growth environments.
- Develop and execute a forward‑looking People strategy aligned with business priorities and growth goals.
- Advise leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent development.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the executive team, balancing near‑term needs with long‑term scalability.
- Champion a people‑first, high‑performance culture that reflects our values.
- Lead the design and implementation of HR programs, policies, and systems to support company growth.
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize HR technology (HRIS, performance tools) to drive efficiency and data‑driven decision‑making.
- Build frameworks for consistent performance management, career development, and learning programs.
- Lead the strategy and execution of total rewards programs, including compensation, incentives, equity, benefits, and recognition.
- Oversee day‑to‑day HR operations, ensuring processes are efficient, compliant, and continuously improving.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian federal and provincial employment and privacy legislation.
- Oversee all aspects of office administration, creating a safe, engaging, and productive environment.
- Partner with hiring managers to design and optimize recruiting and onboarding practices.
- Develop and implement strategies for attracting, retaining, and developing top talent at all levels.
- Drive the development of performance management, feedback, and career growth frameworks that evolve with the business.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high‑performing workplace culture that can scale with organizational growth.
- Lead initiatives that enhance engagement, recognition, and employee connection in both in‑office and remote environments.
- Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations, ensuring fairness, transparency, and a consistent employee experience.
- 12+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5–7+ years in a senior leadership or Head of HR role.
- Proven track record of designing, implementing, and scaling people programs, systems, and policies in high‑growth environments.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment law, compliance, and HR best practices across multiple provinces.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and collaborate with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
- Exceptional communication, problem‑solving, and team leadership skills.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and the use of people data to drive strategic decision‑making.
- A people‑first mindset grounded in empathy, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
- CHRP or CHRL designation is considered an asset.
