The
HR Generalist is responsible for supporting day-to-day human resources activities for a fast-paced transportation and logistics environment. This role is ideal for an early-career HR professional who is eager to build hands‑on experience in employee relations, recruiting support, onboarding, compliance, HRIS/data maintenance, and general HR administration.
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting coordination, onboarding, employee records, status changes, and offboarding activities.
- Assist with new hire orientation, onboarding paperwork, I-9 documentation, E-Verify processes, and employment file maintenance.
- Partner with managers and employees to answer routine HR questions related to policies, procedures, timekeeping, benefits, and general employment practices.
- Maintainaccurateemployee information within HR systems and personnel files, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
- Assist with recruiting efforts, including interview scheduling, candidate communication, job postings, pre-employment requirements, and offer letter preparation.
- Support employee relations documentation, attendance tracking, corrective action follow-up, and general HR reporting.
- Help coordinate HR programs, employee communications, engagement activities, training initiatives, and compliance-related updates.
- Assist with payroll-related changes and documentation by partnering with payroll and operations teams as needed.
- Ensure HR practices support company policies, applicable employment laws, safety expectations, and operational business needs.
- Perform other HR and administrative duties as assigned.
- Education/
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field with 0-2 years of HR experience; OR 1-3 years of equivalent HR, recruiting, payroll, compliance, administrative, or employee support experience. - Strong interest in building a career in Human Resources within transportation,logistics, warehousing, or operations.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability tomaintainaccuraterecords and follow established processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; HRIS or ATS experience is a plus.
- Previous internship, administrative, recruiting, payroll, or HR support experience.
- Exposure to employee onboarding, personnel file maintenance, compliance documentation, or HR reporting.
- Experience supporting hourly, operations, trucking, warehousing,logistics, ortransportationemployees is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are aplus, butnotrequired.
