About Our Vancouver Office

Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, between the Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountains, Teck’s Corporate Office sits in one of Canada’s most culturally diverse cities.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Advisor, Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant Co-op will have the opportunity to develop practical experience across a variety of Human Resources functions, with a focus on HR operations, reporting, projects, employee data management, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a courageous safety leader by adhering to and supporting company safety and environmental policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Assist with the administration and application of Human Resources policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Maintain employee records and update information in HR systems, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Support benefits administration activities, including invoice reconciliation, reporting, employee communications, and related administrative tasks.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute HR reports, metrics, and workforce data to support business decisions and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with HR audits, data validation exercises, and compliance-related initiatives.
  • Draft employee letters, presentations, communications, and other HR documentation.
  • Conduct research, compile findings, and assist with the development of recommendations and process improvements.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives related to employee experience, policy updates, systems, and operational effectiveness.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce, or related degree with a concentration in Human Resources (preference may be given to students in their third or fourth year of study).
  • Strong interest in Human Resources operations, employee services, data management, and process improvement.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and eager to learn new systems, processes, and concepts.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work with data and generate reports.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of integrity.
  • Demonstrated initiative and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Previous co-op or administrative experience is considered an asset.
  • Spanish language skills are considered an asset.

Pay Range: CAD $4,108 - $5,183

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
