Your Role in Supporting Our Members:As a
Benefits Administration Specialist
, you will Augusbe responsible forthe administration, coordination, and ongoing management of disability programs, employee leaves of absence,benefitscontinuation, and return-to-work activities. You will play a critical role in supportingconsistent, compassionate, and well-controlled employee experience while ensuring that leave and benefits programs are administered accurately, confidentially, and in alignment with organizational policies, collective agreements, benefit plan provisions, and legislative requirements. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with strong administrativeexpertise, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with care and discretion.

role based at our
Vancity head office
and will report directly to the
Manager, Health Benefits & Wellbeing.While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands.
- Coordinating administrative activities related to short-term disability, long-term disability, medical leaves, accommodations, and return-to-work programs
- Maintainingaccuraterecords, claim documentation, approvals, correspondence, and disability-related information within HR systems
- Administering and coordinating a broad range of employee leave programs including maternity, parental, compassionate care, bereavement, workplace injury, jury duty, and personal leaves
- Managingbenefits continuation, suspension, reinstatement, enrolment changes, premium adjustments, and employee communications for employees on leave
- Coordinating leave documentation, approvals, system workflows, status changes, extensions, and return-to-work activities
- Preparing employee communications,leave packages, authorization forms, reminders, and follow-up requests
- Supporting payroll, pension, deductions, benefit premium administration, and year-end reporting requirements related to employee leaves
- Partnering with managers, Payroll, Workforce Administration, Retirement, disability adjudicators, and benefit providers to support employee needs
- Monitoring accommodation and return-to-work plans and coordinating updates, follow-ups, and benefit reinstatement activities
- Identifying opportunities to improve leave administration processes, streamline workflows, and enhance the employee and manager experience
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Health, Disability Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience administering disability programs, employee leaves of absence, benefits, payroll coordination, or related HR operations
- Experience working with short-term disability, long-term disability, return-to-work processes, and employee leave programs
- Strong understanding of employee benefits administration, pension programs, collective agreements, and employment legislation
- Experience working with HR information systems, benefits administration platforms, and payroll processes
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases, timelines, and competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and ability tomaintainaccuraterecords in a confidential environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to support employees, managers, and stakeholders with empathy and professionalism
