Our client, one of Vancouver’s highest rated law firms, is looking for a Corporate Legal Assistant to join our Corporate practice in Vancouver
. This role is ideal for an assistant early in their legal career who is eager to deepen their corporate experience, gain exposure to a range of transactions, and grow within a collaborative, professional law-firm environment.
The Role
In this position, you will work closely with Corporate Legal Assistants, Paralegals, and lawyers, providing flexible support across the group. The role offers variety, hands-on learning, and increasing responsibility over time, making it well suited to someone looking to continue developing their corporate skill set.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing vacation and sick-leave coverage within the Corporate groupSupporting Corporate Legal Assistants and Paralegals with workflow overflow, project work, and time-sensitive tasksConducting BC Online and other corporate registry searchesAssisting with transaction closings, including document organization, scanning, and filingManaging calendars, coordinating meetings, and assisting with travel arrangementsAssisting with client billings, invoice preparation, and account correspondencePreparing and processing expense reportsMaintaining accurate and up-to-date client and contact informationLiaising with lawyers and internal staff across practice groups and officesHandling confidential information with discretion and professionalismQualifications & Experience
Legal Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution1–3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a law-firm environmentExposure to corporate and/or real estate matters is an asset, but not requiredStrong proficiency with MS Office and legal document systemsHighly organized with excellent attention to detail, proofreading, and formatting skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentService-oriented, dependable, and adaptable with a strong work ethicEager to learn, receptive to feedback, and comfortable taking on new responsibilitiesAble to work both independently and as part of a collaborative Corporate teamDemonstrated professionalism and commitment to confidentiality
