The Manager, Principal Giving Officer reports to the Director, Principal Giving & Strategic Partnerships and is responsible for the development of their annual major gift portfolio through prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift donors. This role focuses on increasing and retaining giving levels with current donors, attracting new major gifts, and playing a key role in capital campaigns.
The Manager also provides strategic oversight and leadership to the Principal Giving Program at UGM, including supervising the Development Officers, Principal Giving.
This is a permanent, full‑time position. The starting range for this position is $79,443.00 to $86,814 per annum.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Produce and present short‑term and long‑term strategic plans to the Director Principal Giving & Strategic Partnerships.
- Develop strategies to effectively identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward existing donors at an assigned giving level according to the donor clearance matrix with the goal of strengthening the relationship between UGM and the donor resulting in increased giving.
- Develop strategies for existing donors and new donors as well as gifting opportunities and major gifts.
- Develop fundraising proposals and stewardship reports; conduct tours of UGM's facilities and seek to engage donors in volunteer opportunities.
- Arrange meetings between prospects/donors and senior leaders of UGM.
- Ensure partnerships are compatible with UGM’s strategic directions.
- Participate in cultivation and stewardship events.
- Present viable new gifting opportunities to the team for consideration and implementation.
- Work with senior staff and volunteers for gifting strategies and asks.
- Prepare for, and facilitate meetings and presentations to stakeholders.
- Speak on behalf of, and present UGM publicly within the marketplace, where appropriate.
- Represent Union Gospel Mission at various business and community events. Ensure the maintenance of timely and accurate donor records.
- Complete reports, and task in a timely manner.
- Meet established financial objectives.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the Salesforce fund‑raising program.
- Work in collaboration with the External Engagement Department team to ensure all donor interactions are consistent with UGM’s brand and key messaging.
- Adhere to all UGM published policies, practices and procedures, including Occupational Health and Safety.

- Provide leadership and support to the Principal Giving team including the Development Officers, Principal Giving.
