- The Shop at Pacific (full-service custom millwork)

About the RoleThe Director of Construction provides strategic and day-to-day leadership across our full construction portfolio spanning our three lines of business. This leadership role, accountable to the owners and shareholders, is at the center of our project ecosystem - supporting the operations managers and their teams by strengthening operational excellence, growing the next generation of leaders and bridging executive vision with on-site execution.
WhatYou’ll Be Responsible For Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop our Operations Managers and project delivery teams — building strong leadership capacity and succession readiness.
- Reinforce our culture rooted in safety, quality, collaboration, and accountability
. - Establish clear expectations, and performance development plans to help teams do their best work.
- Set and communicate strategic direction for our commercial, residential and millwork operations, ensuring alignment to overall company objectives and financial targets.
- Translate executive and shareholder priorities into clear, actionable guidance for our project delivery teams.
- Collaborate with peer directors to streamline cross-functional processes and strengthen execution.
- Lead end-to-end portfolio oversight, from lead capture through project delivery and closeout.
- Build rapport and strengthen key relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners.
- Represent Made By Pacific in key meetings, negotiations, and high-impact project decisions.
- Champion a “safety-first” operating culture and ensure all sites meet or exceed WorkSafeBC requirements and applicable regulations.
- Ensure consistent QA/QC practices that reduce deficiencies and rework and protect project outcomes.
- Review project estimates and budgets, forecasts, schedule implications and cost performance.
- Oversee contract reviews, change management discipline, financial decision-making and risk mitigation strategies across the portfolio.
- Own capacity forecasting across the portfolio; maintain a sharp view of the lead pipeline to ensure stable workflow.
- Implement KPIs and reporting strategy for each line of business to measure performance, profitability, and overall team health.
- Use data to identify trends, correct course quickly, and drive consistent achievement of financial targets.
- Champion practical implementation of systems and tools that improve reporting, job planning, delivery consistency, and client experience.
- 10+ years in construction with a consistent record of expanding revenue, improving performance, and scaling teams to deliver complex work successfully.
- Skilled at coaching, succession planning, and building accountable, empowered leaders across the organization.
- Collaborative, communicative leadership style that aligns stakeholders and drives execution across multiple projects and priorities.
- Broad construction background across commercial TI, hospitality, and/or high-end residential (or comparable complex builds).
- Strong operational command of project delivery fundamentals: budgeting, scheduling, contracts, risk, and client expectations.
- Solid working knowledge of local codes, permitting, and regulatory requirements to keep projects compliant and moving.
- Safety and quality-first mindset—sets clear standards and holds the team accountable without compromise.
- Familiarity with Procore and/or similar construction management tools.
Background working with millwork teams or fabrication workflows.
