PARC Retirement Living is interested in you as a General Manager for Cedar Springs PARC, our community in North Vancouver.
The Role
The General Manager is the primary strategic business leader of the property with responsibility for all aspects of the operation, inc luding resident and employee satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales and revenue generation and delivering a return on investment. Through engagement and accountability, the role includes leading, supporting and motivating the PARC team to deliver exceptional service and quality. Key accountabilities include:
Executing and managing organizational policies and programs for operational and financial success, including developing budgets, analyzing and reporting on results and creating strategic plans in conjunction with the corporate office.
Holding the community leadership team accountable for training and coaching employees to reach their full potential through setting clear goals and expectations, providing constructive feedback and conducting performance reviews.
Building rapport with each resident by discovering their personal history, likes and dislikes, and family dynamics.
Continuously representing PARC’s vision and mission to the stakeholders and achieving excellence.
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with outside professionals, stakeholders, and community organizations in a manner consistent with PARC’s high standards.
Qualifications
We are seeking a strategic thinker and problem-solver with a glowing track record of implementing strategic, operational and marketing plans, as well as budgets and financial plans.
The ideal candidate has a degree, or equivalent experience and skills in hospitality, business, gerontology or another related field with at least five (5) years’ experience in senior living, hospitality or another related industry, providing strategic and operational leadership. Success in leading and managing employees, cultivating high-performing teams and employee engagement in a collaborative and respectful work environment is also required.
Personal qualities include ability to anticipate issues, demonstrate sound judgment in handling confidential matters and utilize appropriate judgment when assessing requirements.
Experience in managing emergency situations and availability on an on-call basis to provide onsite leadership as necessary. A Criminal Record Check, and a TB test is required within the first month of employment.
