THE ROLE
This is a rare opportunity for a senior project finance leader to step into a highly visible, enterprise-level role with a long-established Vancouver-based real estate developer. The organization is known for delivering complex, design-forward residential and mixed-use projects and is entering a phase where strong financial leadership across development is critical. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role sits at the intersection of project execution, capital, and strategy.
You’ll be a trusted partner to Development, Construction, and Executive Leadership, influencing decisions from feasibility through completion.
As Director, Project Finance & Accounting, you will provide end-to-end financial leadership across the development portfolio. This includes project feasibility, proforma oversight, forecasting, cash flow management, lender reporting, and team leadership.
This role is well-suited to someone who has already operated at a Senior Manager or Director level and is comfortable owning outcomes, improving processes, and leading people in a fast-moving development environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Acting as the financial lead for development projects from early feasibility through construction and close-outReviewing and challenging project proformas, assumptions, construction budgets, and financing structuresPartnering closely with Development and Construction leaders to monitor budgets, forecasts, and cost variancesOverseeing project cash flow and draw management across multiple funding sourcesDelivering clear, timely financial reporting to executive leadership and project stakeholdersSupporting construction financing, lender relationships, audits, and external reporting requirementsIdentifying financial risk and implementing mitigation strategies across the portfolioLeading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing project finance and accounting teamDriving continuous improvement, automation, and scalability within project accounting processesSKILLS & EXPERIENCE
5+ years of leadership experience in project finance / project accounting, primarily within real estate development or constructionExperience operating at a Senior Manager or Director level, with real leadership accountabilityCPA designation (or equivalent)Strong understanding of development proformas, construction cash flow, lender reporting, and cost controlsProven ability to improve and scale accounting processes in a growing organizationConfident communicator who can partner effectively with non-finance stakeholdersHands-on, solutions-oriented, and comfortable in a dynamic, deadline-driven environmentWhy This Role
