THE JOB:
Senior Manager, JCC Communications
The starting salary range falls within the minimum to mid-point of the salary range.

Starting Salary Range: $116,920 - $146,150

Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Communications, the Senior Manager, JCC Communications is responsible for setting and overseeing the strategic direction of Joint Collaborative Committees (a partnership between Doctors of BC and the BC government. They are responsible for strategic communications, providing leadership to Communications Managers, and ensuring all communications activities effectively support the JCC’s mandate and priorities. The role leads the execution of the JCC’s three-year communications plan, provides strategic guidance to Committees and Co-Chairs, and oversees the review and approval of all JCC communications materials..

Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Committee Co-Chairs, and government partners, as well as health care system organizations, this role also oversees large-scale communications initiatives and events, including the JCC Showcase, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget while maintaining a high standard of quality and impact.

A critical component of this role is leading creative and imaginative communications strategies proactively and reactively identifying opportunities for showcasing committee work, physician leadership, education opportunities and driving awareness of the JCC’s value to health care in BC. In close partnership with the EVP, Communications, the Senior Manager provides direct, strategic advice to ELT and Committees on communications and issues, requiring a nuanced understanding of the political and government relations landscape, organizational/JCC workplan priorities, and diverse partner perspectives.

This leader balances collaborative needs, operational realities, and government expectations, influencing key decision-makers through trusted relationships, strong judgment, and clear communication. Success in the role requires exceptional storytelling, media and content development expertise, high-level presentation and facilitation skills, strong emotional intelligence, and a creative, forward-thinking approach to communications that challenges traditional methods and supports the JCC’s long-term strategic objectives.
