Position summary:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic team within BC Soccer at its Vancouver office. BC Soccer is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, dynamic, strategic thinker, and proactive professional for the position of Sporting Director. This position provides leadership for planning, execution and evaluation of soccer activities, services and programs in BC. The Sporting Director aligns technical development programs with long-term strategic goals.

The role leads initiatives to steer holistic development of programs and services across British Columbia.

Role Objectives:

The Sporting
Director is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and leads effective execution of BC Soccer’s technical development strategy, including all activities related to technical development, as well as control, monitoring and assessment of programs. The Sporting Director will focus on direct supervision of talent identification systems, design and implementation of programs and services, and meaningful engagement of partners and stakeholders to enhance capacity building across all levels.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute and work toward objectives as outlined in the strategic direction and operational plans of the Association.
  • Lead Technical Development Strategy in BC Oversee Player, Coach and Match Official Development Program and Services
  • Support Club Operational Development and Enhancement
  • Actively engage in contract management
  • Performance Monitoring of employees and supporting staff
  • Effective budget management
  • Foster a strong culture aligned to BC Soccer’s purpose and values.
  • Lead and provide guidance to member teams, clubs, leagues and districts throughout BC.
  • Chair the BC Soccer, Soccer Development Committee
  • Liaise with partners and external contractors to actively support fulfillment of technical goals and operational priorities.
  • Remuneration

    The position will include full benefits and a competitive compensation ranging between $95, to $, annually based on experience for a role of this nature.
