Salary: $80,000-$85,000 annually

The Manager, Indigenous Initiatives leads the implementation of the newly developed YMCA BC Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan, which is strongly supported by our Board and leadership and embedded in our strategic plan. In addition, this role provides guidance, brings together and supports internal working groups, helps plan and deliver events, and develops training and professional learning resources to build staff knowledge.
The position also builds and maintains relationships with First Nations, Indigenous communities, and partner organizations in the communities we serve and, on the territories, where we work.
Major Responsibilities- in this position, you will:
Report to and work closely with the Director, EDIB to advance organizational Truth and Reconciliation priorities.Provide centralized coordination, collaborative leadership, and guidance for the YMCA BC’s Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan, ensuring alignment, accountability, and progress across the organization.Coordinate and lead meaningful engagement with local First Nations, Indigenous communities, organizations, and partners, supporting respectful, reciprocal, and context‑appropriate relationships.Navigate complex and sensitive engagement contexts with care, applying thoughtful analysis, sound judgment, and consultation to support respectful outcomes and long‑term relationships.Develop and deliver organizational tools, resources, and frameworks that support learning, engagement, and the integration of reconciliation commitments into everyday practice.Lead and support internal working groups and organization‑wide events related to Truth and Reconciliation, such as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and the Moose Hide Campaign.Provide guidance and expertise to departments to integrate Truth and Reconciliation into policies, programs, and day-to-day practices.Qualification-you bring:
