The Opportunity
Full‑time opportunity for a Team Lead to join our Remediation Program Management Downstream Team in Vancouver, British Columbia – other locations in the province may be accepted.
As a Team Lead, you’ll guide a team while continuing to contribute to project work as a senior project manager, ensuring operational excellence and fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
Your Impact- Lead and inspire a diverse team to deliver high‑quality results while embracing a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Conduct career development meetings and year‑end discussions.
- Act as first point of contact for team members, facilitating effective communication and collaboration within the team and across departments.
- Encourage a sense of common purpose and direction, setting clear expectations and monitoring performance.
- Review timecards, expenses, and approve vacation requests.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring each team member meets their utilisation targets and project deadlines.
- Ensure the short‑term backlog of work is scheduled and that workload is appropriately distributed across the team.
- Ensure the team is informed of organisational procedures as it pertains to fieldwork and health and safety.
- Provide leadership and guidance to develop and mentor junior team members.
- Remain involved in project work; maintaining a utilisation target.
- Minimum 8 years of work experience in a consulting environment in the field of environmental assessments and remediations, that includes supervising project teams and demonstrating leadership at a local level.
- Strong working knowledge of the BC Environmental Management Act and associated regulations; and an understanding of the site closure process.
- Ability to mentor and support team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Strong time management and prioritisation to balance project delivery with team leadership responsibilities.
- Proactive approach to resolving issues and identifying staffing needs.
- Solid understanding of organisational procedures and commitment to maintaining high utilisation targets.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate team members.
- Comfortable working across projects and adjusting to changing priorities while supporting team success.
- Proficient in project management software and collaboration tools.
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $93,700 – $124,200
MB & ON: $85,500 – $117,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $84,700 – $112,400
