Manager, Design and Technical Services

Shape meaningful exhibitions at the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery by managing design and technical services. This role emphasizes collaboration with artists and curators to produce high-quality visual presentations.

As the Manager of Technical and Design Services, you will oversee the entire production process for exhibitions and visual displays at the gallery. This includes creating exhibition plans, managing budgets, and providing leadership during installation. The role ensures that environmental conditions, safety, and museum standards are met, enhancing both visitor experience and staff operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and execution of exhibitions

• Develop and manage project timelines and budgets

• Train and supervise production staff

• Liaise with UBC facilities for maintenance and security

• Ensure compliance with public safety standards

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in relevant discipline

• Five years of experience in exhibition production

• Strong understanding of contemporary art practices

• Experience with museum standards and building codes

• Proficiency in project management and CAD tools
