Responsibilities
  • Support the VP in driving overall Circles program engagement and growth for Lean In Vancouver, aiming to increase both the number of active circles and total member participation for each program.
  • Identify, assess, and recommend relevant discussion topics and content ideas to ensure the Circle program meets the evolving needs of the local community of women professionals.
  • Launch and lead one Lean In Circle Program of your choice while sustaining the program for a minimum of six months (Please note that the Circle needs to be approved by your VP prior to formally launching through Lean In Connect).
    • To provide more context, we generally create programs tailored to specific professional themes, such as the existing “BC Women in Entrepreneurship Circle”, “Sustainable Leadership Circle”, and the “BC Women Who Lead Circle”.
  • Act as a main point of contact and support system for Circle members.
  • While driving your Circle’s growth, actively identify highly engaged program members and support them in transitioning into Circle Leads.

  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and proactive.
  • Being able to take independent ownership of tasks and follow through effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • If you are excited about this leadership role, but don’t meet 100% of the qualifications, we still encourage you to apply!
Time Commitment
  • 3-4 hours per week:
Our volunteer hours are project driven, so the hours may vary throughout the year. The estimated time commitment below reflects the maximum anticipated hours.
  • This role requires an initial commitment of a 6-month or 12-month term.
  • 1:1 with the VP on a need basis to discuss your Circle program.
  • Monthly virtual Vancouver Network team meetings:
Only one representative per unit is required to attend. Participation is encouraged if your schedule permits.
  • Annual strategy meetings:
This is typically hosted in person in downtown Vancouver. Each meeting is approximately 2 hours followed by an optional team lunch social.
  • Organize in-person downtown coffee meetings for your own Circle program, ideally twice per year on a weekday late afternoon for 1.5 hours per session.
  • Organize one virtual Circle event each year.
  • Attendance at network events led by the Events Team is not required, unless there is a brief Circles-related segment (typically 5 minutes) embedded in the program. In such cases, usually the Program Manager is expected to attend only to deliver a short Circle presentation.
  • Team social, twice per year (optional)
