North Emergency Management Manager

Take the lead in emergency management with the Squamish Nation in North Vancouver, British Columbia. This full-time position is focused on strategic planning and community safety through effective emergency responses.

As the Manager of Emergency Planning, Response, and Projects, you will strengthen the resilience of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nation.

Your role includes leading a team for comprehensive emergency management, coordinating responses, and building relationships across various sectors to enhance community preparedness and awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct emergency management program operations

• Coordinate disaster responses from the Emergency Operations Centre

• Enhance community training and preparedness initiatives

• Develop and maintain emergency procedures and policies

• Report updates to leadership and community stakeholders

Requirements:

• Professional certification in Emergency Preparedness or similar

• 5–7 years of related experience in emergency management

• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities

• Organizational skills in pressure-filled situations

• Ability to travel between community locations
