Job Description

Position Summary

The Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of large capital projects in the Energy & Natural Resources sector, including mining and minerals. The role requires strong leadership, disciplined project delivery capability, and the ability to operate independently in complex environments. Candidates with controls experience are well suited where they demonstrate clear project delivery capability and client facing leadership.

The Project Manager serves as the primary client interface and leads multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, predictable, and commercially successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of capital projects of varying size and complexity, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives are achieved.
  • Build, manage, and motivate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness.
  • Manage projects through initiation, planning, design, procurement, execution, commissioning, and close‑out with full accountability for delivery performance.
  • Apply structured governance frameworks and stage gate processes to ensure predictable performance and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee contract administration, scope control, change management, risk mitigation, and commercial performance.
  • Serve as the primary client interface, build strong relationships, influence decision‑making, and manage competing priorities.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, maintain risk registers, and escal… recommended actions.
  • Provide clear and concise reporting on progress, risks, commercial status, and performance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to Manage multiple concurrent projects or consulting commissions while maintaining quality, commercial targets, and client satisfaction.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of project management experience in Energy and Natural Resources, mining, or major infrastructure, with direct accountability for project delivery and client outcomes.
  • Experience delivering mining and minerals projects.
  • Full lifecycle project delivery experience, including initiation, planning, design, procurement, execution, commissioning, and close‑out.
  • Strong project controls capability in cost management, scheduling, estimating, risk management, change control, forecasting, or reporting.
  • Experience working within structured stage gate frameworks
  • Strong commercial acumen, including contract administration, scope management, change control, and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent client and stakeholder management skills with the ability to establish credibility, influence decisions, and manage complex interfaces.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing delivery, commercial performance, and quality.
  • High accountability and leadership, capable of operating independently and driving teams toward safe, predictable, high‑quality outcomes.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Environmental Sciences, Business, or related discipline.
