As part of its continued evolution, the organization is seeking an experienced HSE DIRECTOR to provide strategic leadership, strengthen organizational safety culture, and drive continuous improvement across the business.

Based in Greater Vancouver, this is a newly created executive leadership position that reflects the organization's commitment to enhancing safety performance, strengthening accountability, and supporting long-term growth.

This role is viewed as a strategic addition to the leadership team and will play a critical role in shaping the future direction of HSE performance throughout the organization.

About the Role

Reporting to senior executive leadership, the HSE Director will serve as the organization's senior safety authority and trusted advisor on health, safety, environmental, and risk management matters.

The successful candidate will work closely with operational leaders, project teams, and field personnel to develop and implement best-in-class HSE programs, systems, and initiatives. This individual will have visibility across multiple business units and will be responsible for fostering a proactive culture centered on accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the corporate HSE Management System.
  • Lead the organization's HSE strategy across multiple business units and operating locations.
  • Promote a proactive, people-focused culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Support executive leadership through risk assessments, performance reporting, and strategic planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen organizational HSE performance.
  • Operational Excellence & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain HSE policies, procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Lead enterprise risk management initiatives, including hazard identification, risk assessments, and mitigation planning.
  • Monitor organizational performance through audits, inspections, observations, incident analysis, and key performance metrics.
  • Incident Prevention & Response
  • Lead investigations involving significant incidents and high-potential events.
  • Ensure root causes are identified and corrective actions are effectively implemented.
  • Oversee emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity planning initiatives.
  • Environmental Stewardship
  • Support environmental compliance programs and corporate sustainability objectives.
  • Promote responsible environmental practices across projects and operations.
  • Ensure environmental risks are appropriately identified and managed.
Projects & Operations

The HSE Director will provide oversight across a diverse portfolio of operational and project-based activities throughout Western Canada.
