Responsibilities

Community Outreach, Program Promotion, and Participant Recruitment
Conducts outreach to recruit new, eligible youth participants into the program, including Indigenous and underserved youth from equity-deserving groups.Promotes civic engagement to youth and guides them to understand the benefits of volunteerism.Tailors outreach efforts to diverse groups and communities.Presents the program to youth groups, schools, community partners, and other stakeholders, ensuring they understand the program objectives and the time requirements.Establishes and maintains relationships with non-profit partners to help develop volunteer placement opportunities for youth.Establishes and maintains new relationships with community agencies to ensure effective partnerships and wraparound support for youth.Attends community networking meetings, youth-focused events, and other opportunities to recruit eligible youth participants and community partners into the program.Utilizes social media channels and works in collaboration with The Career Foundation’s Marketing department to develop effective marketing campaigns to promote the program to new potential participants.Coordinates guest speakers, group mentorship events, and other initiatives to support youth program participants in achieving successful outcomes.Facilitates information sessions and pre-placement workshops.Proactively seeks marketing opportunities to feature the program within the communities served.Hosts information sessions widely about the program to increase local and national awareness.Enters and maintains thorough written documentation in online data reporting systems, ensuring that files are up-to-date and ready for audits.Supports program management in preparing marketing-related communications about the program, including success stories and entries for annual reports.Performs other relevant duties as assigned.Workshop Facilitation
Effectively delivers engaging and interactive workshops in-person and virtually, utilizing Zoom and MS Teams platforms when delivering virtual sessions.Engages youth participants in workshops through interactive activities and discussions.Provides individual job coaching to youth participants, encouraging them to apply skills learned through workshops, and conducts placement-specific interview preparation with each participant.Researches, creates, and designs workshop materials and ensures that content is youth-friendly and focuses on civic engagement and volunteerism.Builds rapport and maintains an effective working relationship with youth when presenting workshops and providing coaching during one-on-one meetings.Ensures each participant understands the materials presented and can apply the knowledge.Leads group work through activities both virtually and in person.Coordinates guest speakers, training sessions, and group mentorship events.Manages conflict or disruptions during workshops in a proactive and professional manner when needed.Prepares and maintains documentation on intakes, referrals, participant attendance, suitability indicators, outcomes, and other required information.Utilizes digital systems and technologies provided by The Career Foundation to further support youth participants with achieving successful outcomes.Performs other relevant duties as assigned.Qualifications/
Skills Required:
Post-secondary degree or diploma in marketing, business, or human/social services is highly preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in community outreach, marketing, sales, recruitment, or other experience directly transferable to the responsibilities of the position is required.Full BC driver’s licence without restrictions and a reliable vehicle to conduct essential work-related travel throughout BC to effectively meet the core outreach requirements of the position, including to remote areas.Experience working with youth, including those who identify as Indigenous or are from underserved, equity-deserving groups, is considered a strong asset.Prior experience facilitating workshops with high participant engagement and completion rates is considered a strong asset.Knowledge of current labour market trends, job search techniques, and youth employment research methods is considered an asset.Exceptional relationship-building skills with a proven ability to develop rapport with people from all stakeholder groups.Proven track record in a results-driven environment with experience meeting assigned targets.Professional and courteous approach to client service, with a high level of respect for the diversity of the people served.High emotional intelligence, demonstrating patience, empathy, and connectivity when working with youth of various experiences, needs, and abilities.Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
