Position: Vancouver Community Service Position Available
Embrace purpose-filled work with FIRST UNITED in Vancouver as a Community Service Worker dedicated to supporting the Downtown Eastside community. Assist individuals facing the challenges of poverty and homelessness daily.

Hiring for the Canada Summer Jobs program, this position will assist the Community Services Team from July 6, 2026, to August 28, 2026. You will actively contribute to the needs of vulnerable community members and facilitate programs designed for assistance and empowerment.

Your role will focus on operational support and engagement with clients and volunteers alike.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the community hub desk and ensure safety

• Make and distribute harm reduction kits

• Sort donations and manage community supplies

• Support meal service logistics for community members

• Organize drop-in programs and related tasks

Requirements:

• Some post-secondary education in related disciplines

• Excellent communication skills in English

• Experience with marginalized communities preferred

• Ability to pass a vulnerable sector background check

• Must be a Canadian citizen or authorized to work in B.C.
