Get involved in Vancouver’s Galaxy Program as a dedicated volunteer, supporting 2
SLGBTQIA+ youth through dynamic workshops and community events. This fulfilling role empowers you to make a positive impact.
The Galaxy Program, part of Direction Youth Services, is looking for volunteers who can assist in running events, provide mentorship, and support queer and trans youth. Your commitment will help facilitate an enriching environment while ensuring that your expertise and compassion benefit the community. Flexible scheduling allows engagement without sacrificing personal time.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in preparing for workshops and activities
• Organize and maintain the clothing donation space
• Devote efforts to community activities and initiatives
• Engage clients to promote compassion and support
• Attend minimum of one event per month
Requirements:
• High school diploma necessary
• Experience working with young adults aged 16-24
• Understanding of harm reduction
• Ability to maintain flexibility and set boundaries
• Successful Criminal Record Check required
Serve as a valuable support system to queer youth, contributing to their growth and empowerment in the Galaxy Program.
