Volunteer Board Member CMHA North and West Vancouver

Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), North and West Vancouver branch is a not-for-profit, charitable organization. We provide a wide range of innovative and essential services and supports tailored to and in partnership with the communities of North and West Vancouver, Bowen Island, the Sunshine Coast, and the Sea-to-Sky Corridor.

Our current programs include: crisis response community‑led team (“CRCL”), low‑cost counselling, free social support groups, peer support, youth programs, supported housing, outreach, training and employment support.

About the position

Serving on our Board is a great opportunity for an individual who is passionate about mental health and cares for our community, while diversifying their professional skillset.

Responsibilities

Board members are expected to have some financial acumen, attend four board meetings per year, read board materials in advance of board meetings, and come prepared to ask questions and participate in discussions. Board members are expected to responsibly represent the organization to advocate for CMHA NWV’s mission, programs, and services as appropriate. Board terms last for three years and board members can serve for up to three consecutive terms.

  • Indigenous Relations
  • Social Services
