SWAN Community Outreach Volunteer

Join SWAN Vancouver as an Outreach Volunteer and make a difference in the lives of immigrant women engaged in indoor sex work. This role involves delivering safer sex supplies and building trust in the community.

As an Outreach Volunteer, you'll need to commit to one year, dedicating 3 to 5 hours monthly to work effectively with your partner. You'll take part in our mission by visiting massage parlours and facilitating essential connections to our advocacy and support services. Your patient and understanding approach will serve as a crucial first introduction for many women seeking help.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute one outreach route monthly with a volunteer partner

• Complete an online outreach form post-visit

• Attend quarterly volunteer meetings

Requirements:

• Strong communication skills for relationship-building

• Ability to lift boxes up to 50lbs

• Clean driving record with a valid driver’s license

• Knowledge of sex work and migration issues

• Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Japanese is an asset
