Take the lead in major gift fundraising at the University of British Columbia as the Director of Development for Principal Gifts. Collaborate with senior leaders to foster donor engagement and support.

As the Director of Development at UBC, you will play a fundamental role in facilitating significant contributions to the university. This position calls for a strategic mindset and proven experience in major gift fundraising. You will manage a dedicated team, create innovative solicitation strategies, and ensure that donor engagement is both meaningful and impactful.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor fundraising staff for optimal performance

• Develop personal portfolio and engage in face-to-face donor interactions

• Coordinate and implement strategies for major gift solicitations

• Ensure proper donor recognition and stewardship programs

• Collaborate with senior administration and faculty on fundraising goals

Requirements:

• Eight years of relevant experience, with five years in fundraising

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; master's preferred

• Proven track record in meeting or exceeding annual fundraising metrics

• Strong strategic planning and communication skills

• Understanding of university operations and philanthropic strategies
