In this full-time temporary position, you will oversee the recruitment and scheduling of volunteers, develop engaging educational and social programs, and ensure that DEWC provides vital services to women and children.
Your role will emphasize a feminist approach while working within an anti-oppression framework, making a real difference in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Recruit and orient volunteers and peer staff
• Facilitate social and educational programs for residents
• Collaborate with DEWC management and staff teams
• Assess and evaluate community program effectiveness
• Coordinate referrals to appropriate support agencies
Requirements:
• At least 2 years of experience working with marginalized populations
• Experience in developing and implementing programs
• Familiarity with community resources in the Downtown Eastside
• Understanding gender-based violence and trauma-informed care
• Excellent organizational and admin skills
