Position title:
Volunteer Coordinator - Part-time (28 hours per week)
Length of employment: 1 year (Potentially longer pending funding)
Work week: 4-5 days per week (requires availability on Saturdays and some evenings)
Start date:
October 1, 2026
Compensation: $26 per hour
Competitive Benefit Package is included after 3 months of employment

JOB SUMMARY
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for volunteer management, assisting with program delivery and working collaboratively with the staff team, Vancouver Police Department, Board members, volunteers, partners and community members. We are seeking someone who is energized by creating new opportunities, taking initiative, and thriving on turning ideas into meaningful outcomes.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
Recruit, train, mentor and support volunteers
Assist in organizing volunteer recognition events and initiatives
Maintain volunteer and program records and provide monthly/yearly progress reports
Respond to public enquiries, provide resource information and record complaints and concerns
Assist with planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating community safety programs and projects
Lead outreach activities as required, which may involve driving the HSCPC van
Coordinate community events and activities
QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary education preferably in a related area or a combination of education and experience
2 years demonstrated experience in volunteer coordination, program management or community engagement
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
Proven organizational, time management and problem solving skills
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with a history of safe driving
Clear a police background check
Canadian citizen or permanent resident
