About the OpportunityAs part of the Will & Estate Gifts team, the Development Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of a portfolio of Home Beyond Ours (HBOurs) members and prospects with a goal of ensuring timely enrollment, supporting animal intake and ongoing stewardship, while maintaining high ethical standards and protecting the best interest of the BC SPCA. Within their portfolio, the role is also responsible for account reconciliation, reporting, documentation and correspondence in accordance with policies and standard practices.
Additionally, they contribute to team responsibilities around estate and planned gift administration, team administration and responding to donor and professional inquiries.
A day in this role might include:
- Building meaningful relationships with donors, members, and professional advisors by providing responsive, compassionate support.
- Drafting a stewardship letter for annual updates.
- Reviewing estate file to ensure accurate documentation and coordinating findings with Specialist.
- Passionate about helping people and animals

- Empathetic and relation-centric (with donors, colleagues, animals etc.)

- Philosophical harmony with the mission, vision, and guiding principles of the BC SPCA.
Home Beyond Ours (65%)
- Supports program development,implementation and ongoing administration of the Home Beyond Ours(HBOurs) program.
- Manages member enrolment,supportsanimalintakes,completes follow ups,andprovidesongoing stewardship.
- Maintains existing grand parented
Pet Survivor Care Program files, including ongoing updates, correspondence with members,supporting animal intakes, follow ups, and vet reimbursements (as dictated by each Plan). - Responds to routine inquiries from members,donors, professional advisors, executors, trustees, financial institutions, and other interested parties, escalating complex matters as appropriate.
