Join the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre as a Programming Coordinator focusing on skills development in Vancouver, BC. Support women and children through program facilitation and volunteer management, with a strong emphasis on community engagement.
This temporary full-time role will involve recruiting and scheduling volunteers while implementing cultural, educational, and recreational programs at DEWC shelters. The Coordinator will also be responsible for assessing program outcomes and working within a feminist, anti-oppression framework. A deep understanding of the challenges faced by women in extreme poverty will help ensure impactful programming.
Key Responsibilities:
• Schedule and manage volunteer activities effectively
• Develop cultural and educational programs for participants
• Evaluate and assess program effectiveness regularly
• Collaborate with DEWC staff for holistic service delivery
• Provide assisted referrals and maintain community resource knowledge
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years related experience in non-profit settings
• Experience in program development and assessment
• Knowledge of support services in the dtes area
• Understanding of gender-based violence and mental health issues
• Strong administrative and organizational skills
Contribute positively to the DEWC mission by enhancing the skills and experiences of women and children in Vancouver.
