West Coast LEAF(WCL) is a feminist legal advocacy organization based in Vancouver, BC, on the homelands of thexʷməθkʷəy̓əm(Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) andsəlílwətaʔɬ(Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Through litigation, law reform and public legal education, we work toward gender justice in collaboration with people and communities most affected by overlapping systems of oppression. WCLis seeking a Manager of Community Engagementtodevelop and steward community relationships, coalitionpartnershipsand organizational accountability. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager will support reciprocal engagement with communities, movements,coalitions and partners connected to WCL’s work.

The Manager will combine relationship-building, project leadership and practical follow-through and help ensure that community knowledge and lived experience inform WCL’s advocacy, public legal education, organizationallearningand strategic direction.

The positionprovidesleadership for key engagement initiatives,notably the Family Well-being Coalition,supports relationships with communities and coalition partners, collaborate son cross-organizational projects,supports the Indigenous Advisory Circleandstrengthenscommunity-engagement practices across WCL.Therole is also responsible forprojectplanningand managementofkey grants.

We are looking for someone with strengths in relationship-building, facilitation and projectmanagementwho enjoys working collaboratively and building trust across diverse communities and partners.

This3-year position is funded by multiple grantsand is part of the Union, with occasional travel and meetings outside ofregular business hours.

The Manager will:

• Provide leadership and coordination for the Family Well-being Coalition, including planning, facilitation, partnercommunicationand follow-through.
• Build and steward respectful,reciprocal and accountable relationships with priority communities,coalitions and partners.
• Work with staff to design accessible and meaningful engagement processes, including clear purposes, consent,appropriate compensation and feedback loops.
• Bring community perspectives, emerging issues and lessons learned into organizational planning, advocacy, public legaleducationand decision-making.
• Help staff build and sustain community relationships whilestrengtheningcontinuity of knowledge,commitments and organizational learning.
• Manage and support key projects, grants,budgets and reporting requirements associated with assigned initiatives.
• Support coordination,respectful communication,documentation and accountability processes with the Indigenous Advisory Circle.
• Support community resource pathways within WCL’s mandate and the boundaries of the role.
