Position: Banquet Cook (Cook 1–3, based on skill set) - Casual

As a Banquets Cook, you play a key role in executing high-quality culinary offerings for meetings, conferences, weddings, and special events. This role requires strong organizational skills, consistency, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining luxury presentation and food safety standards.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Prepare, cook, and plate banquet menu items according to established recipes, event orders, and culinary standards
  • Execute service for large-scale events, ensuring food quality, consistency, and timely delivery
  • Review banquet event orders (BEOs) and daily production schedules with the culinary leadership team
  • Assist with mise en place and production for upcoming events, including prep for future service periods
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and storage areas
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, including proper labeling, dating, and temperature logging
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of food products to minimize waste
  • Support set-up, service, and breakdown of banquet events as required
  • Work collaboratively with fellow cooks, stewards, and banquet teams to ensure seamless event execution
  • Uphold Five Diamond, Forbes Five-Star, and brand service standards in all aspects of food preparation and presentation
  • Other duties assigned
Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Previous experience as a Cook 1 / Cook 3 or equivalent in a professional kitchen environment
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high‑volume, fast‑paced banquet setting
  • Solid knife skills and understanding of basic cooking techniques
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow recipes and banquet event orders
  • Strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Food Safe Certification required
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel, convention center, or large-scale banquet operation is an asset

You will be part of a collaborative and high-performing Banquets Culinary team that supports some of the hotel’s most important events. The team values teamwork, precision, and pride in execution, working closely with Banquet Operations and Stewarding to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Visa Requirements

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
