Role SummaryThe Account Executive, Sun Advantage Group Benefits is responsible for the profitable management of a portfolio of group benefits business in Vancouver, focusing on the 3‑to‑49 life group market. This involves understanding advisors’ needs, communicating Sun Life’s value proposition, and keeping advisors updated on changes to benefits.
What will you do?- Serve as the relationship manager for advisors (consultants and brokers) and oversee the overall client relationship with Sun Life Financial.
- Meet annual financial objectives and drive growth and profitability of an assigned block of business.
- Develop the relationship with assigned advisors, providing training and new business development.
- Ensure client/advisor needs are met through the delivery of value‑added products and services.
- 2–5 years proven selling experience.
- Integrity, customer focus, strong leadership and the ability to work successfully in a team environment.
- Strong negotiation, analytical and influencing skills.
- Self‑starter and results‑oriented mindset.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Adept at juggling multiple priorities.
- Flexible work schedule and willingness to travel within a two‑hour driving radius during regular business hours.
- Must obtain a GBA designation within the first two years of employment.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
- Knowledge of group benefit plan design, underwriting, technology, Internet applications, taxation, administration procedures, claims practices, government legislation and current developments in the benefits field.
- Ongoing professional development and group industry involvement (advocis, local seminars etc.).
