WESTERN CANADA MARKET
Reporting to the Vice-President, Business Development, the incumbent directly participates in the expansion of all sales and business development initiatives within the Mining sector . In this role, you will be responsible for increasing sales and strengthening partnerships within the Mining sector through engagement with local, regional, and national clients. The main provinces and territories will include but not limited to:
Ontario, Manitoba.

Responsibilities- Sales & Lead Generation:
Promote Veolia's products and services in the Mining sector; manage all sales activities within assigned territory; generate leads and achieve sales objectives - Client Engagement & Needs Assessment:
Conduct client visits to evaluate needs; build and maintain strong relationships with customers, strategic suppliers, consulting engineers, and contractors at multiple organizational levels - Strategic Planning & Market Development:
Develop commercial development strategy and market positioning for Mining sector in collaboration with management; participate in business development activities including conferences, trade shows, and industry associations - Proposal & Contract Management:
Lead and manage the proposal process from development through contract negotiation; actively follow up on bids to maximize conversion; assist in preparing budgets and proposals with tender and engineering teams - Customer Relationship Management:
Deliver solutions, mitigate objections, manage customer expectations, and maintain high client satisfaction levels; ensure quality standards for all customer communications - Reporting & Analysis:
Provide detailed monthly reports on activities, opportunities, issues, and project deadlines; analyze and communicate market intelligence including competition and market trends; update sales database weekly and prepare sales forecasts - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Identify and promote cross-selling opportunities across Veolia business lines; maintain professional communication with all organizational levels and other Veolia divisions - Pipeline Management:
Develop and execute long-term integrated industrial contracts; maintain balanced prospect pipeline to ensure sales continuity; lead sales process by identifying opportunities through customer interviews and industry networking
- Will be required to travel for business purposes for approximately 60% of the time
- Must be available to attend conventions, conferences, sometimes on weekends
- Must be able to work under pressure to achieve the expected results in a timely manner
- Job conditions are based on an expectation of sales results.
- College diploma or bachelor’s degree related to the job requirements
- 6-8 years experience in sales, expertise in water treatment sales, technical and commercial experience
- Depth knowledge of the Mining sector
- Knowledge of water treatment processes
- Computer skills - Google suite, Microsoft suite
- Knowledge of CRM computer systems is a must
- Sales & Business Development: Proven sales expertise including prospecting, account management, relationship building, and opportunity exploration with a hunter mentality
- Client-Centric Solution Design: Strong ability to understand customer perspectives, business drivers, and critical success factors; customize offerings and develop compelling value propositions tailored to client needs
- Negotiation & Persuasion: Skilled negotiator capable of closing deals, negotiating terms and conditions, and influencing clients, partners, and subcontractors; ability to review and negotiate complex legal contracts
- Industry & Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of environmental services industry, target markets, competitors, pricing, legislation, and contract structures; established network with potential customers, trade organizations, engineering firms, and vendors
