OverviewAs an Account Executive the successful candidate will be focused on the growth of their Group Benefits block in the BC region, with preferred locations Kelowna, Victoria or Lower Mainland. This role involves business development activities such as maintaining and developing productive relationships with Benefits Advisors and group policy holders, acquiring new business and advisory relationships, and managing an in‑force business portfolio.
The tasks provide an opportunity to work with a dynamic team to reach or exceed sales, profitability, renewal, and persistency targets.
- Develop deep rooted business relationships with both current and new Benefit Advisors to achieve annual sales, persistency, retention, and other targets
- Focus on relationship management both internally and externally
- Work closely with Benefit Advisors throughout the sales process and life cycle of a policy from quote or presentation to sale and renewal
- Problem solve a variety of items from customer satisfaction to large financial decisions
- Assist in the development of Benefit Advisors including product and financial arrangement knowledge, Canada Life specific products and market strengths, and business solutions
- 3+ years of experience in group insurance and thorough knowledge of group life, healthcare, disability insurance, and underwriting
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, with enthusiasm for presentations
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Undergraduate diploma or equivalent (ideal)
- Ability to act quickly and propose innovative solutions
- Ability to work across all financial arrangements and all case sizes
- Ability to work and adapt in a fast‑paced evolving environment
- Strong sales and interpersonal skills and motivation to achieve business objectives
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle given travel needs
- Designation of C.A.A.S., GBA, or CEBS is a significant asset
Base salary ranges from $70,500 to $117,500 annually. Variable compensation (bonus, commission) may also be available.
