Position: Product Specialist )

The role of the contract Product Specialist (PS) will be to support the launch of a new product across Canada in the insomnia market. This 12‑month contract focuses on creating a deep understanding of the product, its data, and its application in helping patients with insomnia. The PS will engage with GP/FM and, primarily, psychiatric specialists, build relationships with key opinion leaders, health‑care professionals, and stakeholders, and coordinate product training, patient support programs, and follow‑up activities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive, integrated cross‑functional territory business plan aimed at achieving and exceeding annual goals set by commercial leadership.
  • Leverage systems and omni‑channel options to personalize and engage customers in both face‑to‑face and virtual environments, ensuring an excellent customer experience.
  • Develop solid customer relationships and create value for HCP practices by understanding patient journeys and customer needs.
  • Advocate for insomnia patients and communicate priorities and solutions needed for the organization to invest in.
  • Serve as a resource/consultant for customers and staff regarding insomnia therapy, product information, and guidelines.
  • Coordinate learning activities within the territory based on HCP needs and ensure timely follow‑up to gather feedback.
  • Promote the portfolio within approved labeling in a comprehensive, fair, and ethical manner consistent with industry and corporate legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Communicate territory activity in an accurate and timely manner as directed by management.
  • Provide feedback and collaborate with sales colleagues, commercial leadership, marketing, and other internal departments about changing environments and results.
  • Successfully complete all required training classes.
  • Manage promotional budget within assigned limits.
  • Attend medical congresses and society meetings as needed.
  • Engage customers both virtually and live.
  • Travel overnight as required by business needs.
  • Complete any additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (preferred Science or Business).
  • Robust ability to identify and understand the patient journey and HCP adoption journey.
  • Minimum 2+years life science sales experience.
  • Experience in psych / CNS / sleep disorders is an asset.
  • Experience in sales/education discussions with specialists preferred.
  • Recent experience with product launches preferred.
  • Strong track record of sales success.
  • Strong digital marketing aptitude.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross‑functional teams and utilize resources to achieve business goals.
  • Strong drive for superior results.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience using omni‑channel tools to shift HCP perceptions and attitudes.
  • Local and national travel required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must live within the territory or within territory boundaries.
  • Must be able to perform all responsibilities of the position.
