About

your team

Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, R&D and Supply Chain, the Crop Product Manager supports product lifecycle management, demand creation, forecasting, pricing strategy, and new product development. The role also drives continuous improvement in product and project assessment processes to ensure decisions are supported by market data, financial analysis, risk evaluation, and strategic alignment.

How you’ll make an impact

The Crop Product Manager is responsible for developing and executing the technical and commercial strategy for an assigned portfolio of crop protection products. This role creates the technical positioning of products by market, develops annual business plans, budgets and volume targets, and provides technical support to both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Success in this role requires regular interaction with growers, retailers, agronomists, consultants, researchers, and other industry influencers to identify market opportunities and support business.

About your job
  • Develop and implement annual business and marketing plans including volume targets, pricing strategies, technical positioning and demand creating initiatives for the assigned product portfolio.
  • Develop and recommend product pricing, profitability and positioning strategies across relevant broad acre crop segments.
  • Update and manage a 5-year strategic plan for the assigned portfolio to achieve sales and profitability objectives. Create plan for new segments and products being introduced.
  • Conduct competitive analyses and market research to identify market trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing products and evaluate potential new products by developing supporting business cases.
  • Improve and manage the process for evaluating new product and project opportunities, ensuring financial metrics, market potential, risk factors, and strategic alignment are incorporated into decision making.
  • Partner with the Sales team to gather and analyze market intelligence, including acreage, crop trends, competitive activity, pricing, and customer insights to support business planning.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, R&D, and Supply Chain to develop product strategies and support successful product launches.
  • Coordinate product supply requirements and maintain accurate monthly sales forecasts for assigned products.
  • Provide ongoing technical and commercial support to the Sales team through customer visits, training, presentations, and product recommendations.
  • Support the development and execution of territory specific marketing and sales strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with growers, retailers, consultants, researchers, and other key industry influencers to strengthen market presence and identify future opportunities.
  • Represent the organization at industry meetings, conferences, field events, and customer demonstrations as required.
About you

Five or more years of experience in crop product management, marketing, sales, agronomy, or technical support within the crop protection, seed, agricultural input, or related agriculture industry is preferred.

Post secondary education in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, Biology, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.

B.Sc., B.A., or equivalent degree is considered an asset.

Hybrid/Remote opportunity in Western Canada. Travel to Guelph, Ontario Head Office required 1 week per month. Additional travel required in the role includes trade shows, customer visits, team meetings.

Strong relationship building and communication skills, with the ability to work cross functionally with other department teams.

Willingness and ability to travel 25% of the time.
