We are currently seeking a Co-op student to join our Laboratory Operations team. The successful candidate will assist with managing core laboratory systems and administrative processes to support efficient lab operations. This role will work closely with Lab Ops, Facilities, Logistics and R&D departments to ensure daily continuity of lab functions and support scientific teams. This position reports to the Laboratory Operations Manager.
This role will be located in Vancouver, BC and is full-time onsite. The hourly wage for this co-op position is $21.00 CAD.
What You’ll Do- Assist with daily operational tasks, including running the autoclave, glassware cleaning, and general lab upkeep.
- Maintain inventories for equipment, consumables, and reagents.
- Assist with the routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and manage maintenance records.
- Maintain a safe work environment and lab facility, compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate activities with cross‑functional teams and identify future lab needs.
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to lab best practices.
- Gain experience developing and implementing lab process improvements to optimize operational efficiency and safety practices.
- Currently enrolled in a BSc or Diploma in a relevant field.
- Must be available for a co‑op term of at least 8‑months.
- Must be able to work onsite in Vancouver, BC, without relocation assistance.
- Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross‑functional team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a high paced, fast changing environment. Results‑oriented.
