As our newest Environmental Risk Assessor, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal. Working within our national Risk Assessment and Toxicology team, you will work on contaminated sites projects and gain provincial and federal regulatory experience. You will build skills and proficiencies working with clients and regulators to develop technical scopes of work, prepare proposals, and manage and deliver projects.

Responsibilities
  • Engage in project planning, implementation, analysis and reporting for human health and ecological risk assessments, risk management plans, performance verification plans, etc. under various provincial, territorial, and federal frameworks.
  • Evaluate tissue and toxicity data in support of detailed human and ecological risk assessment evaluations.
  • Evaluate site physical attributes, receptor exposure assumptions and toxicity information and complete exposure and risk models.
  • Prepare site‑specific conceptual site models through the consolidation and interpretation of field and analytical data.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare high‑quality technical reports and effectively communicate findings to clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to proposal writing and provide technical support to projects led by other disciplines, such as site assessment and ecology.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Maintain adherence to quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in biology, toxicology, chemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in the preparation of human health and/or ecological risk assessments.
  • Working knowledge of both human health and ecological risk assessment.
  • Demonstrated analytical, data management, and spreadsheet development skills.
  • Familiarity with interpreting biological and toxicological studies (e.g., benthic community assessments, toxicity tests, etc.) is an asset.
  • Professional registration (e.g., P. Bio., P. Ag., P. Chem.) or ability to obtain registration.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to occasionally travel to sites and clients.

Salary range: $75,000 - $115,000. Final agreed‑upon compensation will reflect education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location. 37.5 hour work week, permanent full‑time position. Opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
