Environmental Technician in Sparwood

ERM seeks an Environmental Technician in Sparwood, BC for full-time surface water monitoring. Experience sampling, analyzing, and maintaining equipment in a vital environmental role.

This limited-term position spans three months with potential extensions. As an Environmental Technician, your key skills will include effective field sampling, attention to detail in data recording, and utilizing field meters. You’ll work in varied terrains and weather while contributing to essential water quality monitoring projects in the Elk Valley.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute scheduled sampling at various water locations

• Collect samples per BC Field Sampling Manual

• Document field parameters like pH and temperature

• Maintain clean sampling equipment to prevent contamination

• Prepare and oversee sample transport processes

Requirements:

• Degree/diploma in environmental sciences preferred

• Ability to carry heavy field equipment

• Strong observational and organizational skills

• Effective communication in field reporting

• Valid driver’s license with good driving record
