Your role will involve critical monitoring and species relocation tasks during summer and fall 2026.
As a Junior to Intermediate Environmental Technician, you will engage in ongoing flood mitigation efforts that are vital to local ecology. Your responsibilities include fish salvage, stream monitoring, and coordinating with supervisors and equipment operators. This is a fantastic opportunity to deepen your knowledge and skills in the environmental field.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct fish salvage operations efficiently
• Record and identify fish species during salvage
• Oversee excavation and stream activities on-site
• Remove invasive knotweed from dry gravel bars
• Organize and maintain all field equipment
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in environmental science or related field
• Experience in identifying fish and invasive plant species
• Valid driver’s license and access to transport
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to relocate to Chilliwack if necessary
