SLR Consulting is seeking a Senior Fisheries and Aquatic Biologist to lead vital assessments in British Columbia. Use your expertise in fish habitats and regulatory processes for impactful projects.
In this senior role, you will spearhead fisheries assessments, focusing on mining projects and regulatory approvals. Your strong foundation in aquatic resources and impactful client engagement will be essential. You will also mentor teams and manage project delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes aligned with federal and provincial legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead baseline fisheries assessments and habitat characterization
• Design aquatic effects assessments and mitigation strategies
• Develop regulatory submissions and technical reports
• Manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and Indigenous communities
Requirements:
• 15+ years as an Ecologist in environmental consulting
• Bachelor's or Master's in Biology, Ecology, or Natural Sciences
• Registered Professional Biologist accreditation
• Proficient in statistical analysis and database management
• Strong project management and interpersonal skills
