Certified Sprinkler Fitter – Special Projects Division Job Description

We are looking for a Certified Sprinkler Fitter to join our Special Projects Division.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, modification and repairs on existing sprinkler systems in commercial, residential and industrial buildings. He will also respond to customer service calls and provide training when required.

Viking Fire Protection designs and installs all types of fire protection systems including wet, dry, pre‑action, deluge, foam, clean agent, hybrid and water mist systems.

• Candidate needs to be a member in good standing with UA Local 170 or in the process of gaining membership with UA Local 170. Viking will consider paying for union initiation fees for the right candidate.
• Red Seal Certification is required.
• Experience with tenant improvements and retrofits is preferred but not required.
• Safety first Attitude.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Backflow testing certificate (an asset).
• Ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
• Strong customer service skills.
• High level of communication is required.

• Salary based as per Local UA 170 Collective Bargaining Agreement: $47.48/hr, 14% vacation pay weekly and $8.20/hr towards your pension. All paid weekly.
