Finishing Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled finishing carpenter/handyman to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing doors and hardware, including lever sets, weather strips, door closures, panic doors, and door stops. You must be adept at reading and following step-by-step instructions. As a versatile team member, you should have a keen attention to detail, the ability to navigate digital tools like iPads, and excellent problem-solving skills.

• Install doors and hardware, such as lever sets, weather strips, door closures, and panic doors.
• Read and execute instructions for installations.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools for various tasks.
• Problem-solve on-site challenges effectively.
• Navigate iPads for installation instructions and documentation.

• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
• Experience in carpentry or a related specialty sub-trade for at least 2 years.
• Ability to read and follow installation instructions.
• Strong communication skills.
• Adherence to safety protocols, including wearing PPE such as hard hats, steel-toed boots, high-visibility clothing, gloves, clear glasses, and a lanyard for the hard hat.

• Possession of basic tools including a cordless drill and driver bits.
• Experience with welding and FIRST aid is advantageous.

Join a project at the largest hospital in Canada, located in a landmark building in Vancouver. The work schedule is likely Monday to Friday, with potential overtime as the project progresses. The role requires flexibility to move between sites in areas like Burnaby, Surrey, Aldergrove, and Vancouver. Although parking is not available, the location is conveniently near a Sky Train station. This dynamic environment offers the chance to travel to other sites and gain additional experience.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, BC.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
