Facilities Power Engineer

The Facilities Power Engineer is responsible for operating, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, heating, cooling, and pressure systems across the plant and facility. This role supports preventive maintenance, emergency response, and system upgrades while ensuring compliance with codes, safety standards, and standard operating procedures. They collaborate with contractors and tradespeople, interpret technical documentation, maintain accurate records, and contribute to asset reliability, energy efficiency, and operational continuity through proactive maintenance and problem‑solving.

What

you do:
  • Operate and monitor all plant and facility heating, cooling, mechanical, and pressure systems, including boilers, chillers, energy recovery systems, HVAC, pressure vessels, and pumps, etc. Ensure safe, efficient, and continuous 24/7 performance by adjusting systems to meet changing load demands.
  • Monitor real‑time equipment performance using building automation systems, controls, meters, and sensors. Analyze weather, occupancy, and historical energy trends to adjust operational parameters and optimize energy efficiency, occupant comfort, safety, and system reliability.
  • Track and document system efficiency, energy consumption, and operational trends to support performance analysis, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement.
  • Respond to alarms, service calls, tickets, and operational disruptions to support emergency response, maintain occupant safety, and ensure continuous building operations. Implement temporary solutions and coordinate follow‑up repairs.
  • Maintain detailed operational records, including shift logs, system adjustments, key metrics, and equipment status. Provide clear shift handovers to ensure continuity.
  • Maintain, service, inspect, and repair mechanical, heating, cooling, and pressure systems, including but not limited to boilers, chillers, pressure vessels, HVAC, energy recovery systems, pumps, chemical treatment, and emergency systems.
  • Conduct routine and detailed inspections to detect wear, performance degradation, equipment faults, excessive vibration, and safety or regulatory compliance issues, etc.
  • Perform preventive maintenance following PM schedules, task checklists, manufacturer specifications, and industry best practice. Typical tasks include cleaning and lubricating equipment, replacing seals, gaskets, and strainers, verifying valve and control operation, maintaining chemical treatment and emergency systems, etc.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues such as equipment failures, pressure or temperature inconsistencies, flow restrictions, actuator or valve malfunctions, etc.
  • Complete corrective repairs within scope and escalate complex issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and system modifications to support compliance, traceability, asset management, and knowledge sharing. Prepare reports summarizing work completed, issues identified, and recommendations for improvements.
  • Monitor inventory of tools, consumables, and parts, and coordinate reordering as needed to ensure maintenance readiness and operational continuity.
