Emergency & On-Call Building Manager (Subsidized Housing Provided) Vancouver, BC Sunset Towers Casual Apr 24, 2026 Hourly: $25

At More Than a Roof Housing Society (MTR), our mission is simple yet profound: bringing people home. Every day, we have the privilege of creating spaces where individuals not only find shelter but experience belonging and community. With over 2,000 people already calling our homes their own—and with more joining us every day—we are looking for passionate, purpose-driven individuals who share our heart for transformation.

If you’re ready to make a lasting impact and help others find their way home, we invite you to join us.

More Than a Roof is a faith-based ministry, guided and operated by those who are mature in the Christian faith. The ability to demonstrate and live out our organizational values is important for all staff members. This role will also involve a component of Christian ministry and outreach.

We are seeking qualified individuals to serve a diverse group of tenants in a building in downtown Vancouver in the position of emergency and on-call relief (live-in). The successful candidate will be a people person with the ability to quickly assess emergency situations and execute appropriate responses. Experience in building or facilities maintenance, or related work, is an asset. Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Position requires 3 nights on-call coverage a week and occasional weekend day‑time coverage for 8 hours. This live‑in position comes with an affordable housing unit and forms an important part of the building management team, providing support to Maintenance Team and the seniors community. The role is not a hourly work but is more a relief on call, needing a person to be available to receive emergency calls by phone.

Role comes with a subsidized housing unit and a stipend per month to be on standby and receive emergency calls 3 nights a week. Candidate should be willing to live onsite. No pets site.

Hours:

On‑Call 3 nights a week & Casual shifts during the day.
