Position: Mechanic for UBC Fleet Operations
Join the University of British Columbia as a Trades 3 Mechanic responsible for vehicle maintenance and repairs at the Vancouver campus. This role emphasizes mechanical skills for a diverse fleet of vehicles.

As a Trades 3 Mechanic in the Fleet Management Department, you will use your expertise to repair and maintain UBC's extensive fleet of over 500 vehicles. This includes electric vehicles, construction equipment, and specialized machinery. Demonstrated skills in electrical systems, along with a focus on vehicle safety and compliance, are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced repairs on campus vehicles and equipment

• Maintain electrical and electronic systems for optimal performance

• Conduct vehicle inspections to meet provincial standards

• Train and oversee apprentices in mechanical tasks

• Fabricate and modify vehicle parts and equipment as needed

Requirements:

• Trade certification as a Truck and Transport Mechanic or Heavy-Duty Mechanic

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in vehicle maintenance

• Valid BC Driver’s class 3 license with air brakes endorsement

• Proficiency in MS Office and computerized maintenance systems

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks
