This position is responsible for the maintenance, and/or repair, of a variety of physical plant and specialized equipment in an assigned group of 7‑Eleven/Stripes stores within a geographic area. It also involves on‑the‑job training and assessment of new Techs. Service calls are initiated from the store via 7
Help work orders to the appropriate technician. The position reports to the Area Facilities Manager.
- Perform on‑the‑job training and assessment of new Techs.
- Perform follow‑up assessments and training of new Techs after they have been in the field for a given time.
- Execute all duties and responsibilities of a Tech I and at least 75% proficiency in Tech II duties and responsibilities.
- Respond to work orders for a wide variety of in‑store equipment, including HVAC, refrigeration, hot and cold beverage equipment, ice makers, hot food equipment, fuel dispensers, plumbing, electrical and general maintenance issues.
- Replace ‘plug‑and‑play’ equipment as needed.
- Instruct, oversee, correct and support the assigned Apprentice; may oversee Apprentices in specific disciplines.
- Log apprenticeship activities, complete required evaluations, report on apprentice progress, and submit necessary paperwork for apprentice certifications.
- Support apprentices with online classes if required.
- Ensure safety policies and guidelines are adhered to by apprentices during their training period.
- Develop best practices and strategies for continuous growth and skills development with the apprentice.
- Conduct site assessments, coaching and follow‑up as required.
- Assess techs’ strengths and areas of opportunity to facilitate coaching and training.
- High School or GED required.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- Management experience not required.
- No certifications or licenses required.
- Show leadership and training & assessment abilities.
- Peer‑to‑peer tech support skills.
- Effective communication.
- Project management and stretch assignment capabilities.
- Ability to lead the team (meetings, projects, etc.).
Pay: $50.00 – $60.00 Hourly.
