Become a Journeyperson Carpenter with UBC Building Operations. Engage in diverse carpentry tasks crucial for maintaining academic facilities on Vancouver's campus.
This Trades 2 position involves completing repairs and constructions in various academic buildings, requiring collaboration with other trades and effective communication with customers. You will also play a critical role in mentoring less experienced staff while ensuring adherence to safety regulations and high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Construct and repair complex building structures
• Collaborate with tradespeople for efficient project completion
• Gather and control materials for carpentry projects
• Produce reports and estimates for various jobs
• Handle emergency call-out situations safely
Requirements:
• Class 5 BC Drivers Licence required
• Trade certification as a Carpenter with a minimum of 5 years' experience
• Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Commitment to enhancing equity and diversity practices
• Ability to establish strong working relationships
