Journeyman Plumber Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Plumber to focus primarily on tenant improvements in existing commercial buildings. You will be responsible for the complete scope of plumbing work, from tearing down and refurbishing to installing new equipment and piping systems. This includes working on kitchenettes, showers, washrooms, sinks, toilets, and more. Your role will also involve reading blueprints to ensure proper installation and potentially managing small to medium‑size projects and overseeing a crew of laborers or apprentices.
Responsibilities- Perform installation and modification of plumbing and piping systems, including domestic water, storm, sanitary, hydronics, natural gas, med and lab gas.
- Lead and supervise field project team members, ranging from 2 to 10 people.
- Coordinate and manage subtrades effectively.
- Supervise on‑site activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Review blueprints, specifications, schematics, and project documents to guide construction efforts.
- Communicate with Project Managers regarding progress, site issues, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Conduct quality control inspections throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare detailed reports on project status and performance.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial, institutional, or high‑rise settings.
- Red Seal Plumber certification for permitting and signing off purposes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing, including drainage, heating, rough‑ins, and finishing.
- Ability to travel to the site with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in Pro Core, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and related construction management software.
- Excellent communication skills.
Skills & Qualifications
- 1+ years of lead experience running commercial Tenant Improvement projects.
- Gas ticket certification.
- More years of experience are advantageous.
- Good communication skills.
- Initiative and eagerness to learn.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, BC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $49.00 - $56.37/hr.
