Position: UBC Mechanic - Fleet Services Role
Become a vital part of UBC's Facilities team as a Trades 3 Mechanic, specializing in maintaining a diverse fleet of vehicles. This full-time role offers a flexible schedule with no night shifts.

In this position, you will utilize your mechanical skills and more than five years of experience to work on trucks, electric vehicles, and equipment at the UBC Vancouver campus. You will conduct essential maintenance, perform mechanical repairs, and ensure all vehicles comply with provincial inspection standards.

Your role is crucial for maintaining safety and operational efficiency within the fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute mechanical repairs and maintenance on campus vehicles

• Conduct safety inspections in line with provincial regulations

• Diagnose faults in electrical and electronic systems

• Fabricate and refine vehicle parts as needed

• Oversee apprentices’ work and provide training

Requirements:

• Trade certification in Truck/Transport or Heavy-Duty Mechanic

• Valid BC Driver’s Class 3 license with air brakes

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

• Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of Workday is a plus

• Strong communication and organizational skills
